The client comes first, and late evenings may find John working on an innovative way to showcase a client property. He is always ready to receive a late night call from a client seeking an answer that will put their mind at ease.
John knows how frustrating, seemingly complicated, and time-consuming this whole process can feel to a Buyer or Homeowner. One of his favorite roles, is taking on the task, and simplifying the process for his customers. He really does love being able to convey the message: “Relax, I’ve got this.”
John is also very appreciative of a last-minute opportunity for a showing, or other urgent request, and he understands the importance of establishing the client’s needs and taste, preparing in advance, and how critical time can be. “I have never forgotten the good agents who worked with me when we had a single day-trip to find our next house, nor those who lost our business, saying our urgent schedule was un-realistic.”
Education and Business Experience
Having grown up around the world, he arrived in the Valley from Canada, 35 years ago, renovated central Phoenix properties during college, and is intimate with the best neighborhoods historically, and those now on the rise. John earned his MBA in marketing from Arizona State University, with an undergraduate focus on biology and computer science, and continued to pursued advanced coursework as an executive.
As an e-marketing and sales executive, with stints with IBM and start-ups in San Francisco, Dallas, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Atlanta, New York, La Jolla and Malibu, his regular relocation home searches provided valuable experiences, both good and bad, and led to his real estate career.
John has practiced and taught the Consulting Sales process to the best sales people in business. A former #1 sales executive at IBM, and an instructor of executive education, he teaches, practices, and practically breathes the Consulting Sales Process. John is the Experienced Real Estate Broker, Businessman, Consultative Sales Expert, and Experienced Negotiator you need and deserve to represent your interests, negotiate, and close your property sale in the shortest time frame and at the best price.

John honed his luxury-specific marketing skills, re-positioning and invigorating a gourmet food and wine shop as a side business, as a pioneer in email and blogs delivering wine advice across the country to America’s wealthiest collector’s and some of the biggest names in entertainment and business.
Running a fine wine boutique, he consulted with auction houses, and worked with architects, cabinetmakers, contractors, and some of America’s best Realtors designing wine cellars for luxurious estates, and realized that Real Estate was what he wanted to concentrate on in his future.
As a managing partner in a bar and restaurant, he catered to the needs of some of the world’s wealthiest business people and celebrities. Having created a shop that was a social hub for the wine community, built a wine clientele around the world, and founded the Wine Classic for ChildHelp charity, John decided it was time to move on from technology, food and wine, and focus on real estate- his other lifestyle passion.
Community Involvement & Activities
John spends his rare free-time coaching and instructing on the Valley’s closest body of water, Tempe Town Lake. He teaches youth classes for the City of Tempe, coaches and competes, and paddles when he can find the time.
He loves the company of his family, his Newfoundland dogs, and working with and supporting his favorite charities.
